Financial Center says it has suspended its credit card transactions, leaving millions of customers stranded

Google News article Google has announced that it will no longer offer its popular credit card app, PNC Financial Services, to the public, effective immediately.

The company says that its policy is to suspend its service until it determines whether to reopen it.

PNC said in a statement that the company was not able to offer the app to anyone until the investigation into the company’s practices was completed.

The company’s decision follows a complaint filed last month by the consumer advocacy group Consumer Watchdog that it has been in the process of providing credit monitoring services to millions of people who were using the app without the company being able to verify their identity.

In a statement, Pnc said that it “had received no complaints from consumers and has been working with the authorities in New York and elsewhere to verify the identities of all of its cardholders.”
