Chrysler Financial Corp. is in discussions with lenders for a loan to build a Detroit manufacturing plant, the company said Monday.
Chrysler Financial spokesman Matt Zumke said the lender is exploring financing options for the plant.
The company said in a statement that it would also look at other options, including private financing.
Chrysler, which reported a loss of $3.5 billion in its latest quarter, said it expects the plant to be operational in 2019.
